Police Week 2016

Akwesasne – Please join the Akwesasne Mohawk Police Service and the Saint Regis Mohawk Tribal Police Department in the 2016 Police Week: “Building Community Partnerships”, to be held at Kanatakon Recreation on Monday, May 16, 2016 from 4:00 pm to 6:00 pm.

The highlight for young children, up to age seven, is a “Power Wheels Race” inside the Recreation Center, and Lacrosse with the police next to the Recreation. Our community is encouraged to join in the event. Don’t forget to charge your Power Wheels in advance! There will even be a free Barbeque.

It is spring time, and should inclement weather be forecast, the rain date for the event will be Wednesday, May 18, 2014 from 4:00 pm to 6:00 pm. Same location.

Police cruisers will be on site, giving the public a rare chance to jump into the driver’s seat of a patrol vehicle. Police officers will be present to answer questions from the community. Raffle items will be drawn throughout the evening.

This event kicks-off National Police Week, which runs May 16 – 22, 2016. Police Week is dedicated to increasing community awareness and recognition of policing services while strengthening police and community ties.
