The Akwesasne Mohawk Police Service was formed in 1970. The St.Regis Band Council passed a Resolution forming the St.Regis Akwesasne Police. The police headquarters was located in the village of St. Regis, Quebec.

The mission of the Akwesasne Mohawk Police Service (AMPS) is to enhance peace, harmony, justice and cultural values throughout Akwesasne.

Spotlight

The Akwesasne Mohawk Police Service (AMPS) will be out patrolling school zones across the northern portion of Akwesasne in to remind drivers school is back in session.

Officers will be paying close attention to school zones, speed limits, child restrain systems, school bus safety, aggressive driving and distracted driving concerns.
